ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT MANAGER (ODM) The ODM is responsible for the employee development and talent management strategies and processes. Responsibilities include: • Developing/maintaining the Venezuelan Management Development function. • Maintaining the Company’s performance appraisal tool. • Provide support in the implementation of business strategies. • Developing and implementing the Company’s orientation and integration training for new employees. • Developing and implementing recruiting and selection processes. • Identifying present needs through a direct “input” and a performance evaluation analysis, to allow the design of programs for the development of skills and knowledge needed to positively impact business results. • Foresee future needs based on competitive trends, planned organizational changes and managerial succession plans. This aspect will lead to the identification of high potential employees and to the design of a development plan to dovetail with organizational objectives. • Analyzing how the present organization helps or hinders individual performance. To comply with this issue he/she should identify the existing problems related to the organizational structure, information flow, position descriptions, recognition systems and decision-making systems. Additionally, he/she should implement the analysis mechanisms, and the improvement and re-design of processes. • Determining how culture and organizational climate help or hinder personnel performance. To comply with this issue he/she should implement 2-way communication programs, as well as strengthen and enhance values and corporate culture programs. • It should be emphasized that one of the functions will be to act as a facilitator for corporate programs promoted in the Latin American region. Additionally, the ODM should participate actively in the coordination and centralization of the information obtained from the processes he/she handles and transmit this information to the Latin American headquarters. • Coordinating/aligning efforts with the Latin America headquarters. THE EXECUTIVE The target age range of 32 – 42 years. Candidates must be bilingual, Spanish/English, with good oral and writing skills and as bicultural as possible. University degrees in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Psychology or Social Sciences are preferred, and postgraduate studies or MBA are desirable. Desirable Personal Characteristics: Candidates must be highly ethical, have a sense of urgency and clearly understand the business plans and objectives. They are high demanding of themselves and intelligently aggressive in the sense that they have the ability to persuade and convince, line-oriented management (Finance, Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing). The ODM must have the ability to work in interdisciplinary teams, has good self-control and can handle stress. He/she must be highly service oriented and problem solving in approach.
